Simon Harby Head of UK Relations With Medbelle Since 2019

Simon Harby has experience in UK and International Health Care.

He started in Public Policy Research, before working as a Consulting Manager with Allergan Pharmaceuticals supporting the opening of private hospitals and clinics across the UK and South Africa.

On returning to the UK he opened the UK's first Macular Degeneration Clinic, and later a Down's Syndrome Screening Clinic.

After this, he took on Hospital Directorships for Spire and Optegra Hospitals. In this role, he implemented surgery theatre efficiency plans and recruited new teams to improve and rebuild the facilities.

This work was completed against a backdrop staffing shortages and poor CQC ratings. In fact, a key achievement of the teams he assembled was moving both hospitals from CQC ratings of Poor to Good CQC within a year of each project beginning.

Simon joined Medbelle in 2019. He is dedicated to finding the best care solutions for patients who cannot wait for treatment, either cosmetic or orthopaedic. He achieves this by cultivating partnerships with best-in-class hospitals and surgeons across the UK.

Outside of work, Simon is a keen supporter of the ORBIS eye care charity and has been a part of clinic openings India and Myanmar and multiple African countries. He is also a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
