Medbelle Announces Expansion into Orthopaedic Spinal Treatments

We are delighted to announce our expansion of specialists and clinics into spinal surgery and treatment. This follows our continued growth into a number of new fields as we broaden the availability of simple, smart and more personal private healthcare to ever more patients. Our expansion of orthopaedic treatments now ensures we can provide a variety of personalised support and one-to-one care for patients needing spinal treatment, including consultations, imagine diagnostics, and both surgical procedures and non-surgical treatment. This expansion serves to reduce the waitlists for surgery and help patients receive fast access to spinal orthopaedic care.

Our spinal specialists are currently located in two locations in the UK with a view for further expansion in due course. The first location is Medbelle Orthopaedics | Marylebone which operates out of the Schoen Clinic, a modern orthopaedic facility in Central London. There, we are proud to be represented by the President of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS), Mr David Cumming, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with over 15 years of experience.

The second location, Sheffield Orthopaedics in Sheffield offers orthopaedic care with the expertise of Mr Lee Breakwell, a highly-trained consultant orthopaedic specialist with over 15 years of experience. The facilities pioneer developments within modern medicine whilst providing patients comfort and care.

"We are very proud to count David Cumming from the Schoen Clinic and Lee Breakwell from the Sheffield Orthopaedic Limited Group in our ranks. Both are not only first-class spinal specialists, but also work in structures that ensure the best outcomes for their patients. They also have national profiles, with David currently President of the British Association of Spine Surgeons (BASS) and Lee co-developing the British Spine Registry and being a Council member of the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA). In our mission to raise the standards of healthcare and make it accessible to all, we have recognised the challenges that spine & back pain can have on patients and are delighted to provide a simpler, smarter and more personal pathway for all spinal patients."

Dan Howcroft, Chief Medical Officer at Medbelle

Our spinal treatments are open to both patients who plan to self-pay and those with Private Medical Insurance and the fast track consultations mean patients forgo long waiting times. Lists for surgery and treatment on the NHS is increasing following on from the pandemic and strained budgets.

We are giving patients the opportunity to access much-needed care with professionals in a timely manner. Conditions such as slipped discs, sciatica and arthritis of the spine can greatly affect a patient's mobility and comfort but once the patient has received their treatment plan can start to see great improvements on any issues felt.

Accessibility is an important factor within healthcare which is why we are offering patients the ability to choose how they go about their consultations and aftercare. Patients have the option of virtual consultations, face to face appointments, independent opinion consultations, all-inclusive diagnostic packages and aftercare physiotherapy local to the patient’s home.
