About

Mr Haroon Rehman is a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon based at the National Treatment Centre and Victoria Hospital within NHS Fife. He specialises in hip and knee replacement surgery, performing a high volume of joint replacements using advanced surgical techniques and enhanced recovery protocols, including day-case surgery. In addition to joint replacement, he offers minimally invasive procedures such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, steroid injections and knee arthroscopy (keyhole surgery).

He graduated from the University of Aberdeen and completed orthopaedic training through the North of Scotland Orthopaedic Training Programme. His expertise was further refined during the prestigious John Charnley Fellowship at Wrightington Hospital, a world-renowned centre for pioneering hip replacement surgery. He also completed a national travelling fellowship in robotic hip and knee replacement surgery, an area he believes plays a transformative role in improving patient outcomes.

Mr Rehman serves as Governance Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at NHS Fife, ensuring high standards of patient safety, clinical quality and service delivery. He adopts a holistic, patient-centred approach, focusing not only on surgical excellence but also on long-term recovery and wellbeing.

A passionate educator, he is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Dundee and previously held an honorary academic position at the University of Aberdeen. He is an examiner for the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) examination and was awarded Fellowship of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers early in his consultant career. He is actively involved in clinical research and surgical education.

Beyond his clinical and academic work, Mr Rehman serves as a Member of Council for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, contributing to the development of surgical standards and education nationally.
