Mr. Andrew Mahon is a Specialist Hand and Wrist Surgeon with over 13 years of experience as a Consultant in this field. He has expertise in various aspects of Hand and Wrist Surgery, including injuries and their consequences, nerve compression, Dupuytren's contracture, arthritis, and chronic regional pain syndrome. Mr. Mahon was the first surgeon in Worcestershire to use Collagenase injections for Dupuytren's contracture. He has a particular interest in wrist problems such as carpal instability, ligament injuries, and fractures of the scaphoid and distal radius. He has also gained valuable experience in Arthroscopic Wrist Surgery through a European tour in 2015. Mr. Mahon holds NHS posts at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire and has a wide range of hand surgery experience, including severe injuries and referrals from other hospitals. Mr. Mahon's qualifications include an MB BCh from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1993, an MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering from the University of Wales College Cardiff in 2003, and fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Intercollegiate Board. He is a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society, and the British Medical Association. He has made significant contributions to the field through his publications, including work on hand trauma care and recommendations for the provision of Hand Surgery in the UK. Mr. Mahon has also delivered lectures and teaching sessions to GPs and other healthcare workers. Outside of his medical career, Mr. Mahon is married with three children and enjoys cycling. He has competed in the British 4X series and supports his children in various sporting events at national, regional, and county levels. In terms of research, Mr. Mahon has been involved in several national multi-center studies, with a focus on scaphoid fractures and Dupuytren's disease.
