Mr Anthony McWilliams is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a vast expertise of years in the field. Specialising in first-time and re-do (revision) hip and knee replacements, knee arthroscopy, and injections in the hips and knees, he completed his training in Yorkshire and pursued specialist fellowships at Wrightington Hospital and Airedale. Currently serving as an Orthopaedic Consultant and Clinical Lead at Barnsley Hospital, he recently earned a doctorate for his research on leg length inequality post total hip replacement. Mr McWilliams is actively involved in research, particularly in the field of improving the accuracy of X-ray measurement for hip replacement. Additionally, he has a strong interest in sports medicine, serving as lead doctor for Leeds Tykes and a medical officer for Leeds Rhinos. With multiple publications in reputable journals, Mr McWilliams has made significant contributions to the orthopaedic field. His research on leg length inequality following total hip replacement and litigation after hip and knee replacement has been widely recognised. He holds qualifications such as a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Leeds and a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
