David Ricketts

David Ricketts is an experienced shoulder and elbow surgeon with a strong interest in training. He treats various issues in the shoulder and arm using physiotherapy, injections, keyhole surgery, and open surgery. He has held senior posts at the Royal College of Surgeons and has lectured on shoulder problems and their treatment. Additionally, he has over 200 publications and is a member of the GMC, Royal College of Surgeons, and British Elbow and Shoulder Society. Mr. Ricketts is currently working as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Princess Royal Hospital in Lewes Road, Haywards Heath. His areas of specialization include trauma and orthopaedic surgery, with sub-specialties in hand and wrist as well as shoulder and elbow. He is registered with the GMC under number 2975223 and obtained his FRCS and FRCS (Orth) qualifications in 1988 and 1995, respectively. Apart from his medical interests, Mr. Ricketts has personal interests in long-distance sporting competitions. He has completed ultra marathons and 10Km swimming competitions. In 2000, he founded the Mid Sussex Triathlon Club and has been involved as secretary or president ever since. In addition to his clinical expertise, Mr. Ricketts has research interests in shoulder and elbow surgery, training of surgeons, organization of clinical services, complications, and data handling in the NHS.
