Dinesh Nathwani

Mr Dinesh Nathwani is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in knee reconstruction. He is currently affiliated with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and the Cleveland Clinic London. With over 28 years of surgical experience, including 18 years as a Consultant Knee Specialist, he has pioneered the use of navigation and robotic knee replacement techniques in the UK. His expertise lies in knee reconstruction, sports injuries, computer-assisted knee surgery, and bone-conserving joint replacements. Mr Nathwani is also the President of CAOS UK (Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery UK) and serves as a faculty member on several national and international courses. Mr Nathwani received his medical degree from Sheffield University Medical School in 1991. He completed his surgical training in the North West Mersey Rotation and further pursued specializations through fellowships in Computer Assisted Surgery in Perth, Australia, and knee ligament reconstruction in Sydney, Australia. His research interests focus on the development of knee reconstruction techniques using computer-assisted methods. He is actively involved in advancing the research and development of this technology and sits on development panels for this purpose. Mr Nathwani is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the 2020 Knee Group. In his spare time, Mr Nathwani enjoys spending time with his family in the mountains, skiing, trekking, and playing tennis. He is highly regarded for his expertise in technology-assisted knee surgery and is involved in trials for novel cartilage resurfacing implants and robotic knee replacements. He serves as an Orthopaedic research advisor for the Hamlyn Centre of Robotics at Imperial College and acts as a senior advisor in the development of software and hardware platforms for robotic knee surgery worldwide.
