Mr Marcos Katchburian is an orthopaedic surgeon with expertise in hand surgery and paediatric orthopaedics. He is a member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand and an Executive Board Member of the British Society for Children's Orthopaedic Surgery. His hand practice involves treating a range of conditions such as sports injuries, fractures, nerve compression problems, and arthritis. He also works with a team of hand therapists for non-surgical treatment and post-operative therapy. He developed an early CT model for diagnosing scaphoid fractures and has contributed to the development of the paediatric service at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells. Mr Katchburian obtained his medical qualification from the London Hospital in 1987 and completed his orthopaedic training in Brazil and the UK. He has subspecialised in hand surgery at Queen Victoria Hospital and in paediatric orthopaedics at Great Ormond St Hospital and Hospital de la Timone. He has been a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust since 2002. Mr Katchburian specialises in trauma and orthopaedic surgery with a focus on hand and wrist conditions as well as paediatric orthopaedics. Some of his areas of interest include carpal tunnel release, Dupuytren's contracture, arthritis of the hand and wrist, finger joint replacements, and children's fractures. He also has research interests in hip dysplasia and bone and joint infection in children.
