Sabeen Akhtar

Mr Sabeen Akhtar is an experienced NHS Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive expertise in foot and ankle conditions. He completed his specialist orthopaedic training in the North West and further enhanced his skills through a foot and ankle fellowship at Wrightington Hospital. With over 7 years of experience, Mr Akhtar is known for treating sports persons, including a World Boxing Association lightweight champion. He has a strong research background with published work in peer-reviewed journals and awards from national and international orthopaedic meetings. Currently, he serves as a full-time NHS Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Pennine Acute NHS Trust, with a focus on evidence-based treatments in foot and ankle surgery. Specialising in trauma and orthopaedic surgery, Mr Akhtar's areas of interest include a wide range of foot and ankle conditions such as arthritis, bunions, neuromas, stress fractures, and ankle disorders. He has a particular interest in foot pain, ankle pain, and various deformities related to the foot and toes. In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Akhtar is actively involved in teaching and training, serving as an honorary senior lecturer for Edge Hill University and a faculty member for orthopaedic specialty trainees. He is also a clinical supervisor for junior doctors in training, demonstrating his commitment to education and mentorship in the field. When not engaged in orthopaedic surgery, Mr Akhtar's personal and research interests revolve around trauma surgery, with a specific focus on foot and ankle issues.
