Wai Yoon

Mr Wai Yoon is an experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon with years of expertise in the field. He holds positions at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham and the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Mr Yoon completed his Orthopaedic training on the Royal London Hospital Programme and pursued dual complex Spine fellowship training at renowned institutions in London and Australia. His areas of specialisation include paediatric and adult deformity, with a specific interest in spinal problems such as lumbar spine disorders, back pain, and spinal surgery. Having trained at esteemed institutions, Mr Yoon is recognised for his expertise in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery, particularly in the areas of paediatric and adult spinal deformity. He is actively involved in research and is the chief investigator for the NIHR Magec rods Metallosis trial in Early Onset Scoliosis. Additionally, he is the Principle Investigator for the NIHR BOOST trial, focusing on Better Outcomes for Older people with Spinal Trouble. Mr Yoon's publications reflect his commitment to advancing the field, covering topics such as vertebral augmentation, metastatic spinal cord compression, and the impact of pre-operative MRI appearance on clinical outcomes.
