Pete Thompson is a highly-experienced consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in knee surgery and sports injuries of the lower limb. Pete’s interests cover all areas of knee surgery, from sports injuries to partial and total knee replacement, but he is particularly interested and experienced in procedures to preserve the knee, such as meniscal repair, meniscal transplantation, osteochondral allograft transplantation and osteotomy. He has links with a number of professional sports teams within the UK and has been involved in the treatment of knee injuries for British gymnastics and premiership rugby. He is dedicated to the surgical training of undergraduate medical students at Warwick University, junior doctors, and specialist orthopaedic registrars. He also teaches regularly on national and international courses and lectures at Warwick University, where he has an honorary associate professorship.
