Finding Medbelle: how was your first call with your patient care adviser?

There has been lots of contact between myself and my Medbelle advisor. David ensured I have received all the information I could need and has kept me updated on the process and what to expect and when.

What were the first steps you took towards having treatment?

I have wanted to get rid of my overhanging skin for years after a c-section and another operation through the same scar. I had a consultation with another consultant first but thought I should have another opinion too. I was attracted to Medbelle due to the positive feedback I had read.

How was your Medbelle Consultation?

My consultation was much more thorough than with the other one I had. I feel like Dr Vij considered my body and what it will allow him to do. He has managed my expectations and I feel he was honest and has advised what is possible with my skin, muscles etc.

How did you feel on the day of your treatment?

My operation (Mini Tummy Tuck & Lipo) is in 5 days. I am excited to finally be so close to a new me physically. I am already thinking about my next holiday in the sun without being conscious about my stomach. I have decided to have my mom come with me on the day I go in just for peace of mind. I am a little worried about the level of pain as I know what it means to have a c-section but Lipo on top of this? I know in my heart it will all be worth it.

Treatment Day - I had a private room at the Queen Elizabeth hospital with a TV and bathroom. I cannot compliment the staff enough, each and everyone of them are lovely and caring. Dr Vijh can to see me, drew all over my stomach and put me at ease with his calming way. When it was time I was wheeled down to theatre, the procedure lasted about 2 hours. The nurses then monitor you very closely so not much sleep I am afraid but at least you know your in safe hands. I had my op on Saturday 8th Dec 18, it’s now Tuesday 11th and I am surprised at how well I feel, It’s not really painful more a bit sore on your stomach when you get up and down.

Other than this I am amazed at how well I feel.

One week after treatment

Just been for my 1 week check up at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the nurse has removed all dressings now so only have the corset to wear for 6 weeks. She said my wound was one of the best healing she has seen in a long while. She said I am still swollen and bruised as expected and can now shower as normal. Still need to take it easy and sit & sleep at an angle until I feel comfortable being flat. I feel really positive with everything. I am not in pain per say it’s just my abdomen is a little sore. I don’t really think I need the paracetamol I have been taking. (This is the only pain relief from the 3 I was given I have taken).
