Ian McDermott is an award-winning consultant orthopaedic surgeon specialising in knee surgery and conditions. He is one of the UK’s leading surgeons in the field of meniscal repair and meniscal transplantation, and was the first surgeon in the UK to implant a Conformis custom-made knee. He is now one of the leading surgeons in the UK for custom-made knee surgery. Mr McDermott was also the youngest surgeon elected as a Council Member and Trustee of the Royal College of Surgeons. He has been widely published in medical journals for his research and continues to lead the way in knee surgery innovation, including pioneering the use of biological glues for knee surgery in the UK.
