Mike McCarthy is an award-winning consultant spinal surgeon specialising in spine conditions, injuries and procedures. He is committed to education and is an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Cardiff medical school. As part of his undergraduate degree, he spent time at the Cook County Trauma Unit in Chicago, where they filmed the television series ER, which provided him with experience and a greater understanding of complex, severe trauma management. He has been widely published, and his research from 2022 has been presented both nationally and internationally and has been published in international medical journals. Mike has also established and managed many research projects to advance the medical capabilities for spinal procedures further. Patients describe him as Approachable, polite and respectful.
