An Update from Medbelle

Today, we are sharing difficult news.

Due to significant financial pressures, Medbelle is winding down operations and has ceased arranging new care.

This is not the outcome we had hoped for, and we know this news may feel upsetting, frustrating, or unsettling. Medbelle was built to make specialist care feel more human, more personal, and easier to navigate. We know that patients, clinicians, partners, and practice teams placed real trust in us, and we are truly sorry for the uncertainty and disruption this causes.

Our immediate focus is on supporting people as responsibly and compassionately as we can through this transition.

What Happens Now

  • Patients with upcoming Medbelle-funded procedures have already been contacted directly, and those procedures have been cancelled.
  • Patients who had procedures arranged through Medbelle in the last 12 months have also been contacted with guidance relating to aftercare and next steps.
  • Surgeons, practices, and referral partners have been informed directly of the situation and the next steps relevant to them.
  • Where possible, we are working with surgeons, hospitals, and hospital groups to help patients who were already scheduled to continue their care directly as self-pay patients, with as little disruption as possible.
  • If a patient has already paid Medbelle for a procedure that has not taken place, those funds are secured under trust arrangements, and we are working to process refunds as quickly as possible.
  • Patients who had a procedure arranged through Medbelle in the last 12 months may still have questions about aftercare. In those cases, the treating surgeon and hospital remain the most important clinical points of contact.
  • Because this situation has had to be managed very abruptly, our phone lines may be busy, and email responses may take longer than usual. We are very sorry for this, and we appreciate your patience.

A Final Thank You

Since Medbelle was founded, we have had the privilege of supporting thousands of patients through consultations, diagnostics, treatment, and recovery. None of that would have been possible without the trust of patients, the care of surgeons and clinicians, the work of secretaries and practice teams, the support of hospitals and partners, and the dedication of the Medbelle team.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey.

We will continue to share further information as it becomes available.
