Can I have breast enlargement surgery on the NHS?

You cannot typically get a breast enlargement on the NHS. There are some rare cases when it may be possible, usually in either as part of reconstructive surgery or if you have very uneven sized breasts.

If you have had a lumpectomy or mastectomy to combat breast cancer, or as a preventative measure, then the NHS may deem you eligible for a kind of breast enlargement surgery for reconstructive reasons.

It can also depend on where in the United Kingdom you live. But if you are interested in having breast enlargement surgery, in general, it is unlikely that the NHS will cover your procedure.

At Medbelle, we always take time to inquire about your motivations and consider your eligibility for the surgery. Indeed, breast enlargement surgery is a major surgical procedure and can leave you needing to recovery for 6 weeks and wait up to 6-12 months to see the final result. We never encourage anyone to rush into this procedure and want to make sure that every one of our patients has given it proper consideration before beginning their journey with us. However, we do not require a referral from your GP. So if you are eligible for surgery, then we will take you through your journey step by step and your personal Patient Care Adviser will always be there for you from your first call all the way through until up to 6 weeks after your surgery date.

What are my finance options for breast enlargement surgery?

There are two options for you when signing up for breast enlargement surgery with Medbelle. You can choose to self-pay, which means you can either pay using savings or by seeking financial assistance from an external provider or a bank.

Medbelle also offers you the option to elect Medbelle financing wherein you can pay back the costs of your procedure in monthly instalments for up to five years. If you would prefer to finance your procedure using Medbelle finance, your personal Patient Care Adviser would conduct a soft check over the phone.

To be eligible for Medbelle finance, you must fulfil the following criteria

  • Over 21 years of age
  • Working a minimum of 16 hours a week
  • Living in the UK for the past 3 years
